# Reloaded II

## Launch Reloaded II

### First Launch

* Open your **/P4G-Mods/\_Reloaded II/** directory.
* Right-click **Reloaded-II.exe** (you'll have to scroll down a bit) and select **Open with Protontricks Launcher**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Make sure to launch **Reloaded-II.exe** and not **Reloaded-II32.exe**.

If you don't see **Open with Protontricks Launcher**, select **Open With** and manually select **Utilities > Protontricks** from the menu that appears.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/KTB2OIMfdxohAW3wBYHI" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* In the Protontricks window, select **Persona 4 Golden** and click **OK**.

<figure><img src="/files/LzkOMKbeBCgfhHobMdcO" alt=""><figcaption><p>Thanks to <strong>rudiger</strong> for this image.</p></figcaption></figure>

Your Reloaded II window should look like this when you first launch the program:

<figure><img src="/files/KPQhuYzrbS5xjJTmdnTb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<details>

<summary>The Reloaded II window flashes when I move my mouse around.</summary>

This can happen when moving your mouse over a button with a tooltip. It is a side effect of running the program through Proton and not anything to be worried about.

</details>

<details>

<summary>A window called "Update Available" or "Mod Updates Available" appeared.</summary>

* Select **Update** or **Download** and wait for the download to complete.
* Reloaded II will automatically close and restart after updating.

</details>

<details>

<summary>A window called "Reloaded II Tutorial" appeared.</summary>

* Select **Skip the Tutorial** to close the window.

</details>

## Set Executable Path

Reloaded II needs to know where the **P4G.exe** executable is so it can launch the game and inject our mods with Persona Essentials.

### Select P4G

* Select the **Persona 4 Golden** icon on the left side of the Reloaded II window.

<figure><img src="/files/oKPpG9QQqRjohUP564VM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You'll now be in the **Configure Mods** window for Persona 4 Golden.

### Open Application Settings <a href="#open-application-settings" id="open-application-settings"></a>

* Under the **Main** section on the left side of the window, select **Edit Application**.

<figure><img src="https://p4g.cep.one/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F152149641-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252F-MfLyHlgiVPp3jfPg3ha%252Fuploads%252FZ459yrOxkQRZUI7B8lzY%252Fimage.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3Dfcd036bf-7746-41c0-abbf-2eb016983daa&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=3c00fb3d&#x26;sv=1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You'll now be in the **Edit Application** window for P4G.

* Behold the protagonist's ***dreamy*** face.

<figure><img src="https://p4g.cep.one/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F152149641-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252F-MfLyHlgiVPp3jfPg3ha%252Fuploads%252FwjycPg6lWjcLQkJkktCU%252Fimage.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D54720c8f-c818-484c-8353-992a0a602228&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=dec54d4b&#x26;sv=1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<details>

<summary>I'm beholding the protagonist's <em>glitchy</em> face instead!</summary>

Don't worry, this is just a visual bug and won't affect the game itself. Keep going!

### Update File Path

* Select the **Update** button to update the file path to start browsing for **P4G.exe**.

<figure><img src="https://p4g.cep.one/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F152149641-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252F-MfLyHlgiVPp3jfPg3ha%252Fuploads%252FRbABS1NwCy3CkFHRI3Ej%252Fimage.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D0a842534-b470-4698-82e0-6653cf572c76&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=d90a985&#x26;sv=1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

A file picker window will open.

* Select **My Computer** to view all the drives (real and virtual) connected to the Steam Deck.

<figure><img src="/files/x9pi2gfZn0jYSCQ9Dbnv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Where you go next depends on where P4G is installed:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Internal Storage" %}

* Navigate to:

```
Z:\home\deck\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\Persona 4 Golden
```

* Select **P4G.exe**, then click **Save**.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="microSD Card" %}
{% hint style="warning" %}
This is the tricky part about modding P4G on the microSD card.

**Make sure to go slowly and follow every step!**
{% endhint %}

#### Get microSD Card ID

* Navigate to:

```
Z:\run\media\deck\
```

You'll see a directory named with a random string of letters and numbers here. This is your **microSD card ID**, which you'll need in a later step.

* In a text editor (KWrite or Kate), make a note of your **microSD card ID** and save it as a TXT file in your **/P4G-Mods/Notes/** directory.

#### Continue to P4G.exe

* Back in Reloaded II, continue navigating the full file path:

```
Z:\run\media\deck\<microsd-card-id>\steamapps\common\Persona 4 Golden
```

* Select **P4G.exe**, then click **Save**.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

* Double-check that line next to the **Update** button shows your path to **P4G.exe**.

## Moving On

Congrats, that was the hardest step!

* Keep Reloaded II open and go to the next page.
